Mary Sullivan ~ Birth Doula
I'm the woman who  went with the flow.

I'm the woman surprised by hospital policies she never heard of, mid-birth

I'm the woman whose husband worked out of town and scheduled her birth

I'm the woman who went two+ weeks overdue and refused to schedule her birth

I've been the mom with the NICU baby

I'm the mom who nursed my two year old

I'm the mom who exculusivly pumped milk for her baby for over 10 months

I'm the woman who felt safest  giving birth in a hospital
I'm the woman who felt safest giving birth at home

I'm the woman whose baby loved to be worn in a wrap
I'm the woman whose baby screamed every time she tried to wear him

I'm the mom whose baby threatened to come far too early

I'm the mom who refused to co-sleep
I'm the mom who didn't plan to co-sleep
I'm the mom who chose to co-sleep

I'm the mom who was surprised by triggers during birth

I'm the mom who circumcised some sons and not others

I'm the mom who had a baby wisked away right after birth for surgery

I'm the woman with the surpise pregnancy

I'm the woman who birthed the 11lb baby

I'm the woman with the rainbow babies

I've been the young mom and the mom of "advanced maternal age"

I'm the mom who posted way too many pictures of my children on fb and never have regetted it
I've experienced heartache, incredible joy and anxiety for my baby, my body, my adjusting marriage, and my adjusting older children.  I've seen the joy, wonder and fulfillment children bring as well as the very real physical and emotional challenges.

When I say I hear you and that your feelings and experiences are valid, I mean it.  You are not me, your sister, or your best friend. This is your birth,  your body, and your baby.

My greatest joy is helping women navigate the intricacies of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

Sharing tools to help them communicte effectively with their birth team, be heard and respected.

Sharing resources for support and evidence about decisions they will be making for their bodies and their babies.

Sharing strategies for helping adjust family dynamics, postparum care, and sibling bonding.

Sharing the journey with you as you and your baby walk your own woven way, helping you avoid the bumps and enjoy the view!
